The international film festival Days of Ethnographic Film 2022 is thematically dedicated to visual anthropologist Lisbet Holtedahl, a professor emerita at the Norwegian University of Tromsø. Since the 1960s, she has researched women’s everyday lives and ever-changing societies in Cameroon, Niger and in Norway. We are pleased to announce that the program of the festival DEF 2021 is ready! Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all films will be screened between March 3rd and 6th virtually on the platform vimeo.com/showcase/def2021. Along the films there will also be recorded discussions with the authors. The information on the selected films is available on this link.
The films will be available for free, however viewers will need to apply for the festival will have to register. Once you applies, we will send you a password the day before the festival officially opens.

Our decision on how we will proceed with the festival will be known in the second part of January 2021. If we are not postponing the event in March, we will also simultaneously inform all candidates, which films are selected by our selection committee.

Today we are opening the online festival DEF 2020. The event was postponed in March 2020 due to known reasons, and we later decided to organize it online. All contributions will be freely available during the event at https://vimeo.com/showcase/def2020, that is between between 9th and 15th of November.
Festival program includes 12 video items (films or visual supplements) and 12 videos on the Vimeo platform. Additional information is available in our catalog.

With a few weeks delay, we are opening the online submission for the DEF 2021 festival. We hope that the pandemics during the festival (March 2021) will only live in our memory, but we will carefully monitor the development of the situation and inform here about possible changes in festival plans.
Because of the outbreak of Coronavirus and subsequent governmental instructions or restrictions about public events organization, we are postponing conference with film program. When the replacement date will be known, we will publish all relevant information here.
