How We Know Each Other

Original title How We Know Each Other

[mlsid]

How We Know Each Other is a documentary film about friendship practices, space and intimacy. It features four friendships that have developed in unusual shared spaces. For each friendship pair, a distinctive routine practice (once, twice or three times a week) in an unusual shared space has fostered a close friendship between two people who might not have known each other otherwise. These practices include yoga, car sharing, music and campaigning against lack of food. This film shows us how some friendships rely on chance meetings, shared spaces and common interests in order to thrive. It shows friendships that are more about doing than just being. It shows a variety of answers to a question that is so often asked of close friends; how do you know each other?
